Just rec'd a call from the fire department -- Samish Island Rd. is officially closed by the Roads Dep't, and the barricades are up. If someone decides to go around the barricades, they should use extreme caution.
I don't know how much water is on the road, but clearly it's deep.
This is what I was told via phone this morning, and I think Mike Collins from the Fire Dept will post a message on the e-mail list soon.

If anyone on the Island needs any medical prescription drugs from town, we may be able to go in and get them for you, if you don't feel comfortable driving on the roads.
