I have a few more ideas about this Blog that could help it thrive.
1) If folks are open to it, it could be helpful to start a Samish Saves Gas email list and/or phone list. That way, if there is a 'sudden' trip that arises, or a sudden need that arises, you have several ways to contact others.
2) Consider how to make this really sustainable: for instance, in some cases, if you're going to a specific place (like Fred Meyer, the Post Office or the Library) it's probably easier to help someone else out if their errand involves that exact same place -- than if a special trip would need to be made.
3) Please consider signing up to be a person that can "Post". I'm happy to send an "invitation", but need your email to do that.
4) Your ideas here! ________________ I'd really like to hear everyone's ideas on how to improve the blog.
5) It looks like we'll have a Samish Islander who also lives in Seattle signing up soon. If we have Seattle-ites signing up that could greatly enhance our ride sharing capabilities!

This blog is a great idea. A little trick I learned is to edit your intro message and "post-date" the creation date. If you make it way in the future it will remain at the top until that date. I also got frustrated by the "invitation only" nature of Blogger. Kelly and I use a utility call webtoolbox.com on one of our sites which costs $5 per month, but is a forum rather than a blog. With it you can set the permissions wide open and people can banter back and forth.
